Red Bug on the Road

The Great Annual Red Bug Escape

March 11, 12, 13

Some folks would call this a Retreat, but it’s almost the end of winter, and we all need to get some fresh air and Escape!

On Friday March 11th we head to Natchez Trace State Park, just off I-40 near Lexington Tennessee. The Pin Oak Lodge, located beside a beautiful lake in the rolling hills of West Tennessee is the perfect place to spend a weekend with a group of fun-loving (sometimes crazy), like-minded knitaholics. Each year we feature a different project theme (Hats Off, Spread your Wings, Cowling in the Woods, Shawl we Escape?) and enjoy three days of relaxing, learning, chatting and sharing. Each attendee receives a Swag-Bag of fun and useful (delicious) items, as well as a pattern and yarn for their chosen project. Some of the weekend’s events include a Wine and Cheese reception, a Brown Bag Auction of knitting related “white elephant” items (with fierce competition for those treasures!), the Pattern and Yarn Choosing, Break-out sessions related to the year’s projects, an Afternoon High Tea, Fashion Show, games, and lots of Free Time. All events are optional so attendees can take a hike, go shopping in nearby Lexington, take a nap, or whatever your heart desires. The Lodge has many comfy nooks and crannies perfect for sitting and knitting. The restaurant serves a complimentary continental breakfast, lunch off the menu and a buffet dinner. We get started at 4:30 pm on Friday and finish before noon on Sunday. It’s a wonderful weekend of fellowship; we hope you will consider joining us! Cost for this year’s Escape is $75.00.

Fall Frolic on the Farm

9/17/16

Join us as we carpool just an hour south of Murray to McKenzie, Tennessee. We will spend a wonderful day at the historic Holland Farm which is not only beautiful but has been so for over 150 years!  One of our dear friends and fellow knitters, Nancy Holland loves sharing her family’s history (it is remarkable) and her lovely home and gardens. Look for more details on our Facebook page, and in our newsletter.  Sign ups begin mid-August.
